As a storm moved in, they returned to the car and began unloading their rifles. One rifle jammed. A split second later, it discharged, and the bullet entered Steve’s back. It cracked his sixth rib, split in two, and one fragment stopped about one inch from his heart. Steve survived and came to believe that God had given him a second chance for a purpose.
